To help in a small way, we have compiled a list of resources for those who need information and support.
Get Support
- If you’ve evacuated safely, register as an evacuee. If you have an Alberta Digital ID, use this link: https://emergencyregistration.alberta.ca
If you do not have a My Alberta Digital ID, you can register in-person at a Reception Centre in Grande Prairie, Calgary or Edmonton.
- Jasper National Park Facebook page continues to update on the current situation: https://www.facebook.com/JasperNP. You can also find information here.
Reception Centres
- Shouldice Arena: 1515 Home Rd. NW, Calgary, AB T3B 5K9
- Kennedale Site: Building #2, 12814 58 St., Edmonton, AB T5A 4L3. The evacuation centre will be open for as long as necessary.
- Bonnetts Energy Centre: 10017 99 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB T8V 0R7
Businesses Offering Support
- Hinton Smitty’s will provide meals for Jasper evacuees free of charge.
- Psychologists’ Association of Alberta is offering three pro-bono sessions from volunteering psychologists, to Albertans who are impacted by the wildfires and to first responders.
- Mint Health + Drugs is providing free medications and health support to those displaced by the Jasper fires.
- Cosmic Pizza Stony Plain is offering free lunch to any evacuees of the Jasper wildfire. You can come down to Cosmic Pizza town of Stony plain with a proof of address and they would be happy to serve you.
- Edson Veterinary Clinic is working with Hills Pet Food to help Jasper evacuees out for the next couple of weeks by offering offering two weeks worth of food for each pet affected by the evacuation. Please call us at 780 723 3354.
- Peavey Mart is offering their parking lots for daytime/ overnight RV parking should anyone need temporary space. Store washrooms will be available for water and light clean-up during store hours. If you require anything else, please contact a store manager, and they will do their best to help.
Pet Support
- Parachutes For Pets are working to get pet hampers and supplies to evacuation centers and hotels. If anyone is headed towards Calgary, they can assist with pet safekeeping, supplies and vet care if needed. Please call 368 999 6460.
- The Edmonton Humane Society (EHS) is supporting the City of Edmonton’s Animal Care & Control Centre to assist people and pets who have been evacuated to Edmonton due to the wildfires.

Like so many Albertans, and others from around the world, our team has many wonderful memories connected to Jasper. From weddings to family gatherings, to enjoying the beauty of the area, we are feeling this great loss.
