July 24, 2026 • Charity Spotlight

As summer heats up, we are excited to shine a light on our July Charity Spotlight, ElderCare Edmonton. Continue reading to learn more about the important work they do in our community, the impact they have on the lives of seniors and caregivers, and how you can help support their efforts.

About ElderCare Edmonton

ElderCare Edmonton is a non-profit organization that has supported seniors and adults living independently in Edmonton and surrounding communities since 1980.

They provide recreational Adult Day Programs that promote social connection, physical activity, cognitive engagement, and meaningful friendships. Operating at six locations across Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, and Leduc, they also provide caregivers with valuable respite.

Over the years, ElderCare Edmonton has grown from three Edmonton locations to six program sites serving communities across the region. This growth reflects their ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of seniors and their families, while making their programs more accessible to those who can benefit from them.

Supporting Seniors in Our Community

ElderCare Edmonton’s mission is to strengthen seniors’ and their caregivers’ independence and quality of life through recreational programming

Every day is different! Participants can enjoy a variety of engaging activities, including music, dancing, art, gardening, games, fitness, baking, cultural celebrations, and community outings.

Their programs are about more than just activities; they create friendships, build confidence, encourage independence, and foster a strong sense of belonging. For many participants, attending an Adult Day Program provides opportunities to connect with others, stay active, and continue enjoying meaningful experiences.

  • Social Connection: Alleviates feelings of isolation through meaningful interactions with peers and caring staff.
