With June being Pride month, we wanted to reshare our post from last year about the amazing organization, Outloud. Digital Link fully supports and accepts individuals of every race, colour, gender, and sexual preference, and we hope you learn more about Outloud and the incredible work they do for the LGBTQ community.
Outloud, a registered charity with the Canadian Government, started in a church basement and has since served more than 600 individuals through its programming. Outloud provides support for the LGBTQ community to those of all ages as well as their families. Offering several group meetings, which focus on juniors (under 12), youth (13+), Talks (18+), and PFLAG for parents and friends, Outloud is committed to spreading love and acceptance.
Terry, McKenzie, and Kayla are part of the Outloud team, who each specialize in different areas. Terry, the Executive Director, reports to the Board of Directors. McKenzie is the full-time outreach worker, whose main role is to plan and facilitate groups and meetings. She supports youth and families by finding counselling and mental health services. Kayla is the part-time outreach worker who helps with all thing’s technology as well as in-house support.
A main goal for Outloud is ensuring individuals know they are not alone, they are loved, and they are supported. Outloud offers a community where people are encouraged to be their authentic self, and meet others who share similar experiences, challenges, and stories.
One of the best ways to help support Outloud is through monetary donations. Volunteers play a vital role, and they greatly appreciate volunteers to help with the various jobs that are needed. We invite you to follow Outloud on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube and encourage you to share their content on your own social media platforms to help spread the word.
