Digital Link Spotlight on International Women’s Day

March 8, 2018 • General Interest

Inspiring. Strong. Powerful.

These are just some of the words Alyce uses to describe her mother, who she says helped mold her into the woman she is today. “My mom always taught my sister and I that we could do and be anything.” Being surrounded by strong women in her life including her mom, sister, and tribe of talented friends is something she is very thankful for.

As the Social Media Manager for Digital Link, Alyce strives to provide the best service to clients and build strong, empowering relationships with those she works with. She is grateful to have found a career that allows her to pursue her passions as well as balance quality family life; something she always hoped for.

After the birth of her own daughter in 2011, she realized that she needed to pursue her own dreams and push herself toward the career she had always dreamed of. “Having a daughter truly gave me the push I needed to make a change in my life. She gave me the courage and drive to quit my job of nine years in the banking industry and go back to school.” While a daunting feat with a small child at home, Alyce completed the four-year Bachelor of Communications Studies program at MacEwan University. Although faced with many challenges, she was determined to succeed. The love and support from her husband, daughter, and family helped fuel her committment. “My husband supports me through everything. He is a firm believer in doing what you love and I am grateful for his unwavering confidence as we faced each challenge together. It is also such an important message for our daughter; that when we pursue our dreams, the obstacles are worth every bump along the way.”

When she’s not busy scrolling social media, you’ll likely find Alyce writing. The talent and support of the blogging community inspires her on a daily basis. Alyce started building her own social media community two years ago, and is blown away by the love and encouragement from the women who are a part of her Facebook and Instagram community as well as the strong relationships she has built with fellow female bloggers. “We truly uplift and support one another. We are women empowering women, and that is something I am incredibly proud to be a part of.”

Working for Digital Link has been an incredible experience. Alyce continues to learn and grow in her position and has gained so much from the talented, creative and exceptional women she works with. The Digital Link environment is welcoming, talented, supportive and inclusive; and what more could you wish for?
